Berber Stars notched their first win of the season last Friday, ending CKS Warta's unbeaten run to start the season with a 4:2 victory.
The Stars struck first in the early moments through Amine Airaki's power-play goal, but Warta responded a few minutes when Jonathan Pachar found an equalizer. The sides went into the break knotted at 1:1.
The Stars regained the lead shortly after the teams changed ends, catching Warta with a shorthanded strike to make it 2:1 with just 0:06 remaining on Warta's power play.
The score went to 3:1 midway through the second frame, as the Stars displayed a dangerous and potent counterattack.
William Butler's fourth goal of the season pulled Warta to within 3:2, but they would get no closer, as the Stars refused to crack under Warta's increased pressure.
The Stars wrapped up the three points with a fourth tally in the final seconds of the contest.
