SAC Wisla tightened the race for the NSL title on Sunday when they defeated Wisloka Chicago 3:1 at Robinson Homestead, River Rd. Dawid Wisniewski paced Wisla with a pair of goals.
Wisolka, who had moved to the top of the table three days earlier with a 5:3 victory over Vikings AA, struck first on Sunday through Roberto Avila in the third minute,
The unexpected strike served as a wake-up call for Wisla, who gradually took control of the tempo. Wisniewski leveled the affair in the 35th minute and teammate Alex Lulek put the home side in the lead just before the break.
The task became more difficult for Wisloka when they had a man sent off in the second half. Wisla kept up the pressure and Wisniewski sealed the deal just after the hour mark to make it 3:1. The two-goal performance capped off Wisniewski's big weekend; he got married on Friday.
The top four teams are now just separated by three points and a tight race for the championship make every game count going forward.
