SAC Wisla made it three wins in four matches with a comprehensive 3:0 victory over Stare Byki FC at River Rd Robinson Homestead on Sunday. Wisla controlled the middle third of the field with smart ball movement and an economical passing style.
Wisla needed just three minutes to break into the lead. Marcin Modzelweski’s swerving free kick from the right side dropped neatly inside the 6-yard box and bounced into the goal past a flat-footed Byki defense.
The home side made it 2:0 in the 35th minute, when Dymtrii Kvas finished off a counterattack with a well-placed shot from the right side of the box that found the inside of the far post.
The Byki gamely tried to get back into the contest in the second half by increasing their tempo. Although they held Wisla at bay, the Byki were unable to put much pressure on Wisla’s goal.
The clincher came five minutes from the end. Wisla played a free kick near the penalty area to the top of the arc, where David Wisniewski drilled a low shot first-time through a crowd, giving Byki goalkeeper Aaron Menyes no chance.
